What follows are some thoughts for your self-reflection. Do you actually enjoy your golf swing? What if you played an entire round of golf with the thought/intention to physically and mentally enjoy every swing and every stroke? Are you curious enough to give that a try?
What if you played another round of golf with the thought /intention to enthusiastically proclaim an “Ooooo-way!” (aloud, or to yourself) after every golf shot or stroke? (See the June 2018 Instinctive Golf Blog Wu-Wei on this site). Would you be curious and bold enough to give that a try?! If course, I understand that it depends on the company you’re playing with! I imagine that it could elicit some serious laughter, especially if you play ‘couples golf!’ Do you wonder how that laughter might affect your physicality and your golf swing?!
It might take some mental discipline to remember to do these post-swing activities for every stroke in a round of golf. You could establish a “trigger” (such as the moment you observe the lie of the golf ball on the turf) to remind you of your post-swing intention. It could be more than just interesting to see what effect this ‘proclamation’ might have on you physically – and ultimately on your golf swing and performance.
I’d love to read your feedback in the “Comments” section below the Blog on the keepitsimplegolf.com website.
